Sloth Slept On is one of 7 books I’ve worked on with Frann Preston-Gannon and it’s been exciting to see her style develop throughout our time together. I feel my job as a designer is to complement her beautiful illustrations as best I can. I feel my role as a designer is to complement her beautiful illustrations as best I can. I aim to choose fonts that enhance the personalities of her characters, strike a balance of the text placement – interesting vs not interfering – and collaborate, suggesting ideas if I think they could enhance the book, which Frann is always receptive to.
