Lark Ascending
So, full disclosure; I’m a music geek! (And many other types of geek too, but especially that!) So much so that at school when I carried my cornet case around with me (it’s like a trumpet, kinda…), even teachers would say ‘going on holiday?!’ and then chuckle to themselves at their hilarious joke… Hmm. I didn’t really care though because playing and listening to music of all kinds has been one of the most wonderful things in my whole life!
One of my favourite classical pieces is The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams – it’s just so stunningly, eye-wateringly, ethereally beautiful! This pattern is a visual representation of the music as it appears to me when I close my eyes and picture what those sublime strings and spine-tingling melodies are telling me to draw.
